Beautiful flat, fully equipped, 300 Yards from the most beautiful Sand beach. There is nothing amiss here. And the weather was also warm and sunny - ein Traum, as we say in German.

A serene space with stylish and comfy furnishings. We loved the luxury of two sofas. Easy to drift off on the sound of the sea through the window as you read and have a cup of tea.

In 1762, Henry Fox (later Baron Holland of Foxley) acquired a large parcel of land at Kingsgate from Robert Whitfield, expanding his Thanet estates. He commissioned amateur architect Thomas Wynn. After Lord Holland’s death in 1774, the estate passed to his son, Charles James Fox, who quickly sold it. In 1807, speculators bought the property with plans to convert it into a hotel, but the project was never realized. The house was later altered, with the portico removed and divided into three separate dwellings. During WWII, the Army occupied the property, and the residents were evacuated. Holland House is nestled between the Captain Digby Inn and Kingsgate Castleboth remnants of the 1st Baron Holland’s 18th-century architectural follies. Notable former residents include artist Sir Luke Fildes, author William Makepeace Thackeray, and the Duke and Duchess of Fife.
